Sana's Parent Support Groups Program (PSG) was established when we recognised the existing vacuum of support offered to families of people with intellectual Disabilities (PWiD). The need for these support groups was empower families to deal with the challenges of having a child with a disability through raising awareness, building knowledge as well as offering peer support and success stories. Accordingly, Sana established its first PSG in 2010 and by the end of 2018, we proudly reach over 800 families across our 15 support groups - seven of which are in Amman, and the remaining across Irbid, Zarqa, Salt, Jarash, Mafraq, Ain Albasha, Madaba and Karak.
The Swedish Development Partner (IM) was instrumental in allowing Sana to grow at this pace and continue to be the key donor for this program.
Joining a group is simple - select the group most convenient to you and attend the meeting. You will be added to a Whatsapp group to receive announcements of future meetings. You are also welcome to visit any group even if it is not the one you became a member of if the topic interests you.
All parent support group meetings are announced on our Sana Facebook page.
